FRIDA MARZOUK, A.F.C. (director of photography) is a French Tunisian cinematographer whose work spans narrative features, documentaries, short films, and commercials. After studying film in Paris, she moved to New York to focus on cinematography, beginning her career as a focus puller before working  for over a decade as a lighting technician. Her recent work as a cinematographer includes Where the Wind Comes From (Sundance Film Festival, 2025), Promised Sky (Cannes Film Festival, Un Certain Regard, 2025), and Cotton Queen (Venice Intl. Film Festival, Settimana della Critica, 2025).

NOMAD SHADOW and COTTON QUEEN

OLIVE NWOSU was born in Lagos, Nigeria and studied film at Columbia University School of the Arts. She now lives in London and Lagos. She crafts image-rich, emotionally resonant films that interrogate the ways we belong, resist and transform. Her short film Troublemaker was the first Igbo-language film to be screened on the highly regarded Criterion Channel. Masquerade premiered in Toronto, screened at the Sundance Film Festival and won multiple international awards. Her first feature film Lady premiered at Berlinale 2026.

NADIA DENTON is based in London and has worked in the film industry for two decades as a curator, public speaker and impact producer. She has been a curatorial advisor for Cinéma Africain! (Austria) since 2024. She coined the term BEYOND NOLLYWOOD and has championed Nigerian cinema across various film programmes. Her publications include Cinéma Africain: Archiving, Resistance and Freedom (2025) and The Nigerian Filmmaker’s Guide to Success: BEYOND NOLLYWOOD (2014). She has worked with organisations which include the BFI London Film Festival, EFM at Berlinale, Doc Society, London Film School, Sundance Film Festival and British Council. She co-produced Shooting it Like a Woman, a BBC World Service radio documentary about Nigerian women in the film industry. Nadia is an official African Heritage Guide across the V&A, Tate Modern and British Museum. She has a degree in Modern History from St. Hilda’s College, Oxford. Her father is the late Black British filmmaker Menelik Shabazz.

ABENA CARTY-PINNER heads the Women’s Office of the City of Linz. The office is a point of contact for women in Linz and for organizations working on women’s issues. It raises women’s policy concerns in public debate, offers talks and educational programs, supports and advises on projects, and honors women for their commitment.
