Dakar, Senegal. Mati is struggling with her mother’s impending death. As she wanders through the city, she encounters a mysterious group of soul-eating women. What begins as a chance meeting marks the start of a profound transformation.
Aida Captijn - born in Geneva, Aïda Captijn is a Senegalese-Dutch filmmaker who grew up between Switzerland and Dakar. A 2025 graduate of HEAD – Geneva with a degree in film, she explores the trajectories of female characters through the prism of genre cinema and a decolonial perspective. Her film Vampire Décadence was selected for the NIFF in 2024. His short film Dëmm had its world premiere at the Kurzfilmtage Winthertur—Swiss competition in 2025.

When his brother Amarildo disappears in the Cabo Delgado war, rumours hint he joined the insurgents. Sérgio returns home with the tragic news. As household tension mounts, he senses his 10-year-old nephew, Pércio, shares a mysterious link with the missing man.
Ariel Añez was born in 2001: his mother was a lawyer and a painter, and his father a doctor and a writer. Inspired by masters like Tarkovsky, Bergman, Ozu, and Kieslowski, Añez developed his artistic vision. Submergido, his first short film, is selected in Rotterdam International Film Festival.

Ansoir, a young Comorian boxer, dreams of elsewhere. Leaving the island seems impossible, the sea taunts him,and his body becomes his only passport.
Born in 2001 in Caen, Salomé Moindjie-Gallet, of Comorian and Norman heritage, graduated from the Beaux-Arts of Caen and Paris, where she studied in Clément Cogitore’s studio and was honored for her work. Her cinematic practice moves between documentary and fiction, focusing on gestures, silences, and intimate narratives, which she considers political and decolonial spaces. She works as assistant to Ange Leccia, editor and sound engineer. She is currently filming in Grande Comore, a territory still largely absent from cinematic maps, aiming to shift attention toward margins and invisible presences.

Guillaume had to go into exile in mainland France to study. Now he’s back with his family and team for the Tour de Yoles. A unique and major event in Martinique.
Sarah Malléon is a screenwriter, director and CEEA graduate. In 2018, she co-directed the international award-winning short Doubout with Pierre Le Gall. In 2023, she directed her first solo short, Sirènes, which had its world premiere at TriBeca in 2024. She is currently developing two series for HBO and France TV. She wrote and co-directed the animated short La Ligne and is working on a biopic “La Guêpe”; narrating the exploits of French fencer Laura Flessel. Ay Douvan is her first short documentary.

Francois leaves Haiti by sailboat to the USA, leaving behind his wife, Mirlande, who is six months pregnant. She has to wait ten days to hear from her husband. And now ten years later, without any news, the woman who still hopes and waits offers a sacrifice to Agwe, the divinity of the oceans.
Samuel Suffren is a Haitian director and producer. He is making a trilogy of short films inspired by the story of his father. The first film, “Agwe” (2022), was selected at Locarno and won the Best Diaspora Film at FESPACO. “Dreams Like Paper Boats” (2024) is the second film, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. “Blue Heart” (2025), the final part, is presented at Cannes (Quinzaine des réalisateurs). Samuel is currently working on his first feature documentary, Lòtbò, and is also developing a feature fiction film, “Je m'appelle Nina Shakira”.

Ondine returns to Reunion Island after a long absence, as her Grand-Pa is dying. While preparing to say goodbye, she has a strange encounter in a waterway. This moment draws her into the memory of her island, scarred by slavery and the wounds of the past.
Studying cinema at La Sorbonne Nouvelle, Célia Berby Maillot is originally from La Réunion. Her ambition is to represent visions, stories and faces that she has only rarely seen on screen. From her first short fiction film, she set out to tell the stories of her island.
